Why Milgard works
for SF homes

San Francisco and the Peninsula have every kind of house in a few square miles: stucco Doelger homes, Edwardian flats, Eichlers and new remodels. Milgard covers nearly all of them, because it makes vinyl, fiberglass and thermally improved aluminum.

It’s also a West Coast brand built for West Coast weather, with Low-E glass options for fog-belt comfort and for the sunnier side of the Peninsula.

  • Started as a glass shop in Tacoma, Washington in 1958
  • Three frame materials, so one brand can fit very different houses
  • Patio doors that match the windows around them
  • SmartTouch locks on Tuscany sliders, single-hungs and patio doors
  • SunCoat Low-E glass, with SunCoatMAX for more heat control

Best Fit

Where Milgard fits
SF and Peninsula homes

  • Sunset, Parkside and Daly City stucco homes: Tuscany or Style Line sliders and picture windows
  • Edwardians and older homes needing double-hungs or bays: Tuscany
  • Modern remodels and black frames: Trinsic or C700
  • Eichlers in San Mateo and Palo Alto: A250 aluminum
  • Indoor-outdoor living on the Peninsula: moving glass walls

On street-facing windows of historic SF buildings, Planning usually expects wood or wood-clad windows, which Milgard no longer makes. For those facades we use Windsor, and Milgard everywhere it fits.

We’re an authorized dealer for all six brands we carry, so we can recommend Milgard where it’s the best fit and another brand where it isn’t.

Questions

Milgard
FAQ

What happened to the Milgard Ultra series?

Milgard replaced the Ultra C650 fiberglass series with the C700 series in 2026. C700 comes as windows plus sliding and swinging patio doors, in six colors inside and out.

Tuscany or Trinsic?

Both are vinyl. Tuscany has a wider, traditional frame and more styles, including double-hung, bay and bow. Trinsic has a narrow frame for a modern look and more glass.

Can I get black Milgard windows?

Yes. Style Line, Trinsic and Tuscany come with a black exterior, and C700 fiberglass comes in black inside and out.

What warranty comes with Milgard?

Milgard’s warranty depends on the series and options you choose, so we spell out exactly what applies to your order in the written proposal. Because we’re an authorized Milgard dealer, warranty questions come straight to us.

How much do Milgard windows cost?

It depends on the series, material, sizes and glass, and on the work around each opening, such as trim, stucco or siding and permits. We don’t quote a number before seeing the home. After we measure, you get a written, itemized proposal with options, permits included, and no obligation to go ahead.
